"The Grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for." Allan K. Chalmers.
One can safely say that, there is no one on earth who does not want to be happy. From dawn to dust, we struggle to pursuit happiness every single day.
The way people define happiness can be varied because people's needs and wants are different from one another. Practically, most people may feel happy if they have a lot of money. Obviously, money can satistify people with material needs, for instance, comfortable house, car, other luxurious things.
One the other hand, some may feel happy if they are healthy both mentally and physically and being loved.
These group of people may believe that money is not the most important factor for an individual to be happy.
Popular saying: Money can buy lust but not love. It seems that there are some truth in it because if money can make people happy, then, there is no reason for rich people to commit suicide. Obviously, this is not the case.
May be, contentment is the key to happiness. As long as greed controls one's life, I believe, obtaining happiness is quite unlikely.
So, what is your definition of happiness? Post your comment.
