Hong Kong's Gap between Rich and Poor

When you think of Hong Kong, what kinds of factors/images appear in your mind?
Wealthy? Developed? High Rise Buildings? Kungful Stars such as Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan? An International Financial Centre? In fact, all of these are true. But it is also true that there are still many poor people and polarization is quite serious.

Acording to World Bank (2007) Hong Kong's GNI per capita: $31,610.

Hong Kong's social welfare/security system is considered as one of the best ones in Asia. Low income people can apply for social security called CSSA (Comprehensive Social Security Assistance). Acording to government statistic (April 2009) there are 480, 451 people who receive CSSA.

While I was there for three years for my study from 2006 to 2009, I witnessed affluent people change mobile phones very often.
